We are looking for junior and mid-level Estimators to join our dynamic and growing company. The roles would suit people who have some civil engineering experience and are looking to move into estimation or people with some costs estimation experience who wished to develop their skills further. We offer training and opportunities for career progression.

Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.

Leave arrangements are in line with statutory provisions, currently 28 days per year including public holidays. There is a compulsory Christmas shut-down.

Role and responsibilities

• Working under one of our directors

• Considering tender documents and preparing estimates

• Pricing Bills of Quantities

• Attending meetings both pre and post tender

• Attending Sites

• Communicating with clients, consultants and colleagues

• Researching and reporting on current market prices for materials and Sub-contractors

• Preparing budget estimates and cost plans

• Preparing quantity take offs for commercial projects

• Collating contract documents

Essential Criteria

• Educated to degree/OND/HND level or equivalent in quantity surveying or construction related field.

• Some experience in civil engineering, quantity surveying or cost estimation

• Computer literacy, including MS office software

• Ability to used CAD

• Driven, hardworking with an ability to use own initiative

• Organised, analytical and accurate

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Desirable Criteria

• Some experience working on ground works projects

• Familiarity with take off and estimating software, in particular Causeway
