Office Assistant

Clarke Construction (Services) Ltd is a well-established construction company specialising in the petroleum industry, groundworks and civil engineering.

 

General day to day duties will include assisting other team members in supporting job sites by arranging material and equipment deliveries, managing subcontractors and assisting with the smooth running of our projects. In addition the company has a small property portfolio and duties will include providing assistance in the management of those properties.

Working hours align with the construction industry, between 08:00 - 17:00; We can be flexible for the right candidate.

 

Job Type:             Full-time.

Salary:                  Competitive; dependent upon experience.

Role in Detail:

Tasks will involve, but are not limited to;

  • Dealing with telephone queries from clients, site teams, suppliers and tenants;

  • Obtaining supplier prices, placing orders and arranging deliveries via telephone / email;

  • Entering data in to company computer systems (relating to projects, costs, assets, timesheets, etc.);

  • Liaising with utility and insurance companies for the business;

  • General document completion, filing and office administration duties;

  • Completing job set-up, compiling site-specific H&S documentation and relevant forms for job folder;

  • Assisting with the company’s fleet management, including downloading tachograph downloads, recording driver details and licencing information, arranging plant and vehicle maintenance and inspections;

  • Compiling risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessment;

  • Helping to keep the office tidy.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Punctual, reliable and trustworthy.

Positive attitude, with ability to change task quickly to help the team to meet deadlines.

Forward thinking and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.

Good IT literacy (Word/Excel/Outlook/Researching via internet).

Flexibility to support the business.

Experience within the construction industry and/or transport management is preferred but not essential.

 

Own transport is essential due to location of offices (no public transport or pavement access).
